Tethered, Anchored, Grounded

Remember and know that the Lord is with you!

I’m the kind of person that needs to be tethered to something – someone. This isn’t a dependency thing. It’s more like an anchoring thing. I naturally lean toward being spontaneous, which can easily lead to feeling scattered because I end up with too many things going on.

If I’m not careful, I can quickly feel overwhelmed and out of control. Being tethered, or anchored, gives me the freedom to explore anything I want, while remaining grounded. It’s like the string of a balloon in the hand of a parent instead of a child who is prone to let go.

I have found that the only tether that truly can anchor my soul and ground me in peace is my God and Savior Jesus Christ. He tethers me tighter and stronger than any human person or material thing ever could.

He holds me today, tomorrow and always. He has promised to give me eternal life. John 3:16 holds this powerful promise… “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

His promise is for you too. It can be the anchor in your life when you feel like everything is shifting and changing. If you are feeling scattered or your life is chaotic, know that God is with you, and His promise of eternal life is for you too. He loves you so much that He sent His only son so that you can have eternal life with Him. All for you. All for me.

So, when we are overwhelmed by chaos in life, we can tug on this tether in Christ Jesus and find it anchored securely in God. We remember and know that He is with us. He loves us and has good plans for our lives.

We are tethered.
We are anchored.
We are grounded.

What a faithful and gracious God He is!

Are you feeling overwhelmed by life? Take courage! God has promised to give you eternal life through our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you face trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” (James 1:2-4)

Pray with me: Dear Jesus, thank You for coming to Earth and going to the cross. Forgive me for all my sins. I surrender my life to You. Anchor me within Your unfailing love. Increase my faith. Thank You for loving me. Thank You for forgiving me. Thank You for dying for me. Amen.

Verse to Memorize

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
