Not a Last-Minute Fix
God promises to meet our needs.
“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
Philippians 4:19 is a precious promise for us. In all, God has promised to supply. Whatever you’re facing today, God has supplied. It tells us that the same God who takes care of us will also meet all our needs from His abundant riches, which we get to access through our relationship with Jesus.
Just think about it. God's provision goes way beyond just the stuff we need. He's there to give us strength when we're feeling weak, to provide solutions to our problems and even to guide us out of tricky situations.
I’m reminded of the believers in the Book of Acts. In Acts 11:27-30, we hear about Agabus, who had a prophecy that there was about to be a famine in the Roman world. The believers, without hesitation, rallied together to help. They took up an offering and sent it with Paul and Barnabas.
History shows us that there was indeed a famine in the Roman world between 44-48 AD. Even before the famine, God had already sent the answer on the way. It's like God had already set the rescue plan in motion before they even knew they needed it!
And how about Abraham? When he was about to sacrifice Isaac, he told his son, "God will provide the lamb." Sure enough, God did! It's a reminder that God's provision isn't just a last-minute fix; it's been part of His plan all along.
God supplies a way of escape. 1 Corinthians 10:13 states, “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”
There are so many stories of God’s miraculous provision. So many who had almost given up, but God came through. I bet if we sat down, you could tell me dozens of stories of how God has shown up for you in unexpected ways.
I could fill libraries with the stories of how God has provided for me and my family in my life.
I could talk about how before I even knew Him – He loved me enough to send someone brave enough to invite me to church. I could talk about the pastors in my life over the years who have fanned the flame of God in my life. I could talk about how at, just the perfect time, God provided a helpmate for me in Melissa, or how God has given us three amazing kids. God is our provider.
What do you need God to supply in your life today? I’m believing with you today for God to break through and provide.
Are you trapped in a sin that you can’t find your way out of? God is your provider.
Are you in need of a miraculous healing today? God is your provider.
A financial miracle? A restored relationship? God is your provider!
His track record is flawless, and He's not about to let you down now!
Let's hold on to that promise together: God is our provider.
As we lean into Him and trust His faithfulness, we can rest assured that He'll come through for us, just like He always has.
