Fun Arts is a PennDel District opportunity where CLA Kids can participate. Fun Arts is designed to:

  • help kids discover their ministry talents and develop these giftings to the best of their abilities

  • help ignite a passion inside their hearts for ministry

Eligibility


CLA Kids Grades 3-6 OR Ages 8-12 may participate in the following categories:

Vocal Division

  • Vocal Solo (Male and Female)

  • Songwriting (Solo)

  • Rap (Solo)

Drama Division

  • Drama (Solo or Group)

  • Worship/Interpretive dance (Solo)

  • Human Video (Solo or Group)

Instrumental Division

  • Wind Solo

  • Keyboard Solo

  • String Solo

  • Guitar Solo

  • Percussion Solo

Art and Writing Division

  • Photography

  • Visual Art (2D or 3D Art)

  • T-shirt Design

WRITING SUBMISSIONS MUST BE TURNED IN TO CLA BY MARCH 31 (NO EXCEPTIONS)

  • Poetry

  • Comic/Comic Book

  • Book Chapter

  • Script Writing

  • Short Story

  • First Person Essay

Communication Division

  • Short Sermon

  • Puppetry (Solo or Group)

CLA Kids Grades 1 and 2 may participate in the following categories:

  • Human Video Group

  • Puppetry Group

 

 

 

 

A participant can enter as many as 5 categories as indicated below:

  • 3 individual categories

  • 2 group categories

  • Can be in the same division twice but not the same category twice
    (i.e. A student could be in a vocal ensemble and vocal solo but cannot be in 2 separate vocal solos or 2 vocal ensembles)

 

 

Important Dates

Group Practices (CLA Kids Town):

  • Sun 4/7/19 9-10:15 AM

  • Sun 4/14/19 9-10:15 AM

  • Sun 4/28/19 9-10:15 AM

  • Sun 5/5/19 9-10:15 AM

  • Sun 5/12/19 9-10:15 AM
    (Final Rehearsal/Mother’s Day)

Anticipated Actual Event (First A/G- Harrisburg):

  • Sat 5/18/19 8:30 AM-3 PM (approximately)

  • Students should plan to stay for the entire day in the event they are asked to “showcase” their entry

Kids Town Presentation Dates:

  • Sun 5/12/19, 5/19/19, or 5/26/19 10:30 AM
    (Based on schedules and presentation options)


Applications and Fees


Application:

  • Application must be completed in full and turned in to Cristen Crossley on or before 3/31/19
    (NO exceptions due to registration rules)

Anticipated Cost:

  • $15 initial registration which includes the first category

  • $3 per entry for each additional entry (if in a group, each group member pays $3 for that category as it is not a “group fee”; Example: If a student is in 3 events then there fees will be $15+$3+$3= $21 total)

  • Checks should be made payable to CLA


What happens after Fun Arts?


  • Following the event, each student will receive an evaluation form and certificate for participating

  • There is only one level for Fun Arts (students will not be moved on to nationals like they do for Fine Arts)

  • Look for opportunities where your child can share his/her ministry with others
